Crowns, Inlays, and Onlays

Renewing Smiles with Custom Crowns, Inlays, and Onlays

A damaged or severely worn tooth can spoil your smile and prevent you from eating the crunchy and chewy foods you love. Don't surrender your smile. Dr. Stoffel applies crowns, inlays, and onlays to restore oral comfort, function, and appearance.

A crown sits snugly atop a compromised tooth to strengthen and protect it. Dr. Stoffel uses all-ceramic, porcelain-fused-to-metal, and gold crowns to restore structural integrity to damaged teeth. He'll consider tooth location and stressors to determine which material to use. All-ceramic crowns looks and feel like natural teeth, so no one will notice your crown, just your beautiful smile!

Crowns take three visits to design and place. After your consultation and exam, Dr. Stoffel will prepare your tooth for restoration and take a dental impression, then fit you with a temporary. A skilled ceramist at a trusted, local lab will handcraft your crown to match your natural tooth color. When your restoration is completed, Dr. Stoffel will remove the temporary and permanently affix your beautiful new crown.

Dr. Stoffel may suggest an inlay or onlay if your damaged tooth doesn't require a full crown but needs more restoration than a filling can provide. Inlays fit within the cusps, or bumps, of a tooth. Onlays fit over one or more bumps. Like crowns, inlays and onlays are custom restorations created in a dental lab.
